Motor Vehicle Credit


Two forms of proof are required in order to adjust your motor vehicle:

  1. A canceled plate receipt from the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles (click here to cancel online)

                                                    AND

  1. One of the following documents that must include the VIN# and the date of transaction:
  • Bill of Sale
  • Out of State registration
  • Total Loss letter from insurance company
  • Junk receipt
  • Donation letter

If a license plate was transferred onto a new vehicle, there is no need to provide these documents.
