Emergency Medical Services

Volunteer!

This is the most exciting volunteer position you can have in the Town of Bridgewater. The BVFD is one of the main reasons that Bridgewater is Bridgewater and we can only keep it like this with your help. If you have any interest in taking an EMT class please do not hesitate to call or email me. I am also at the firehouse every Thursday night at 7:00pm for our weekly work night. Feel free to stop by and find out more information regarding the EMT classes and Ambulance in general.

Thanks,
Greg Bollard
EMS Coordinator - Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Department

File of Life

I encourage everyone who has any medical condition or takes any type of medication to obtain a File of Life packet. The File of Life packet is a simple packet that sticks (magnetically) to your refrigerator. It contains basic information about any medical conditions, allergies and medications that a person may have. As part of the EMS system it is vital that we are able to respond to a call and get a patient to the hospital safely and quickly, with as much accurate information as possible. The File of Life packets are available at the Fire House, Town Hall and the Senior Center. This is another tool that takes 2 minutes to fill out and could save the life of you or a family member.

Check Your Smoke Detectors

With winter quickly approaching please check the Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors in your home. This along, with learning CPR (I will find you a class in town to take) are two simple acts that will save you and your family's life. Please feel free to contact me if you have any issues regarding the detectors in your home.

You Can Help

Did you know that we are an all-volunteer department that does not charge for our services? We maintain our services through donations and fund raising (mainly from the Bridgewater Country Fair). Should you have an interest or ability to help our cause, please feel free to contact me by email: click here.
